International Electricity Exhibition (IEE)

The 14th Iran International Electricity Exhibition, at which 343 Iranian companies and 98 foreign companies attended, was held in Tehran International Permanent Fairground from November 8th to November 11th, 2014. Among the foreign companies at the exhibition, 48 companies directly registered for attendance and other companies attended at the exhibition as active representatives.

     With regard to the huge number of Iranian and foreign companies as well as visitors including agents and those interested in the field of power supply, this event is considered as the biggest meeting among suppliers and demanders of electrical products and services in Iran. Therefore, there was a specific focus on designing power plants and the technology adopted in modern power plants especially large power plants, full-scale production, gas turbine technology, clean energies, building private power plants, and internal and regional markets.

     Iranian President’s Chief of Staff delivered a speech on the first day of this event and stated that in the new government, planning and predictability capability have been returned to Iranian economy and the current tranquility is also a result of the reduction in the rate of inflation, which has led to an increase in investment caused by the reduction of tension.

     Mohammad Nahavandian denounced the wasting of electricity in production, distribution, and conveyance. He laid great emphasis on developing innovations and mentioned that it should be noted that many problems in electricity industry are caused by external factors such as imposing targeted subsidy plan which impaired the electricity industry in Iran.

     Iranian Energy Minister also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 14th International Electricity Exhibition and referred to the encouragement of export and electricity industry as the most important issue with which the Ministry of Energy deals. He emphasized that export expansion is among the main components of climbing out of the recession.

     Hamid Chitchian emphasized that the major issue for the Ministry of Energy is export in electricity industry. He declared that in 2012, 52 percent, in 2013, 35 percent and in the first few months of this year, 92 percent of technical and engineering services exports were related to water and electricity industry. He also stated that Iran is building or has built power plants in Iraq, Oman, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Syria.

     It is noteworthy to mention that Iran Electricity International Exhibition is considered as the biggest industrial and commercial event in this field. This exhibition has hosted a considerable number of major Iranian and foreign companies in the field of electricity and energy for years so that such companies can exhibit their achievements and products to experts and those who are involved in this industry and direct their future activities and innovations with regard to the market demands and the growth pattern of this industry.

     The 14th exhibition was held in a covered area of 40061 square meters. In addition, an outdoor area of 1658 square meters was given to Iranian companies and an outdoor area of 247 square meters was given to foreign companies. The indoor area for foreign companies was 1638.5 square meters, where they could compete with Iranian companies.

     Employers, advisers, and contractors attended at the 14th Iran Electricity International Exhibition, and producers and importing companies exhibited their products in the fields of lighting, wires and cables, boards, automation, conveyance, and other electrical equipment.

     There were companies from China, South Korea, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, India, Finland, Spain, Canada, England, France, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Macedonia in the exhibition.
